Microsoft's planning a number of free-to-play games for Xbox Live, possibly including a free-to-play Fable MMO from the bods at Lionhead. Ubisoft's Josh Mast reckons the business model will "hit it big" on next generation consoles, as third party publishers follow the manufacturer's lead.
But why wait for tomorrow, when you can download a bunch of free stuff from Live today? There's some reasonable entertainment to be had without laying down a penny, thanks in large part to Kinect Fun Labs and the mercenary activities of a certain junk food manufacturer. LOS ANGELES — Xbox kicked off its E3 keynote Monday with a trailer for Konami’s Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain for Xbox One. At an event Microsoft promised to be full of games, the company delivered, showing off a substantial number of new titles not only for its newest console, the Xbox One, but also for its now 8-year-old Xbox 360.
